Power Integrations's high frequency double-tube forward IC can greatly reduce system cost and size
Power Integrations announced today the launch of HiperTFS™-2 series IC- An IC that integrates both high voltage MOSFET, dual forward and flyback power controllers. Such a high degree of integration can save more than 20 components, thus reducing the external dimensions and increasing the power density. The main converter provides selectable switching frequencies of 66 kHz and 132 kHz, which helps reduce system costs by using smaller cores.
HiperTFS- 2 IC can achieve efficiency above 90% under full load conditions. They can also provide 175% peak power, which is to meet the requirements of the next generation of Intel CPU. This kind of double-tube forward main power supply realized simultaneously by a single chip (66/132 kHz)And flyback (132 kHz) Standby power supply can be used in a compact double-row eSIP™ The power package provides a total output power of up to 364 W (Peak power 586 W). Safety functions include undervoltage, overvoltage, overheating, overcurrent and short circuit protection. The transformer reset control function can prevent saturation under any conditions.
Chris Lee, product marketing manager of Power Integrations, said: HiperTFS- 2 IC can make 80 PLUS® Power supplies in bronze PC, game machine adapters and industrial products are miniaturized. Since the device includes a MOSFET on-tube drive circuit, designers can eliminate pulse transformers and many other auxiliary components, thus simplifying the design and reducing the size of the magnetic core (And cost).
PI also launched HiperTFS-based- The new reference design DER368 of 2 IC is a 12 V and 250 W power supply with a peak power load of 180 W and standby power of 10 W. HiperTFS- 2 IC samples are now accepted for order, based on the order quantity of 10,000 pieces, the unit price per piece is 1. 74 dollars.
