PI simplifies design of 440VAC input industrial power supply
Power Integrations today released a new reference design (DER-479)- Using the company's LinkSwitch-4TM series constant voltage/constant current primary side adjustment (PSR) Industrial power supply designed by switching IC, which uses a 1200V bipolar junction transistor (BJT). The design supports 440 VAC input and has three outputs, so it can provide high precision constant voltage DC power supply up to 11 W.
LinkSwitch-The controller uses an adaptive base- Emitter switch drive technology can improve switching performance and efficiency. This advanced switching technology is especially beneficial to high voltage applications because it can reduce the switching loss of slow shutdown and eliminate BJT faults caused by secondary breakdown, thus expanding the reverse bias safety working area (RBSOA)And enhance system reliability. In addition, LinkSwitch- The primary side adjustment detection method of the controller can eliminate expensive and unreliable optocouplers and replace it with a simple transformer winding in the feedback loop. The no-load power consumption of this design is only 50 mW, while still providing fast transient response. The 65 kHz operating frequency helps to reduce the transformer size, thus reducing the system cost and PCB area. LinkSwitch- The device can also compensate for many factors, including transformer inductance tolerance, input voltage change, cable voltage drop and peripheral component temperature change.
